The Texas A&M innovation offices have evolved and grown since adopting Sophia in 2012. The organization has gone from each commercialization office managing its own portion of the IP portfolio to moving to a centralized office in March 2023 now called Texas A&M Innovation. Sophia played a key role in this transition and provides the ability to track each group, maintain historical data, and manage reporting to support the university鈥檚 ongoing success.

Rise of the CIO
Texas A&M hired the first Chief Innovation Officer for The Texas A&M University System who is focused on building an entrepreneurial culture with internal and external partnerships that are more strategic to execute longer-term goals. The CIO has aligned their teams, philosophies, and goals, enabling a new fresh program.

Sophia continues to be the main tool for Texas A&M鈥檚 success. It houses all the IP and agreement records for hundreds of inventions and agreements. They also use Flintbox for their technology marketing and are working on implementing the new Ventures module to help manage their start-up portfolio.

Additionally, the 萝莉网 Office as a Service team evaluated and reviewed every detail of Texas A&M鈥檚 process and provided a thorough Standard Operating Procedure document. Thanks to 萝莉网鈥檚 industry expertise, they revamped the innovation process to improve overall efficiency and support.

Training
The 萝莉网 team also provided staff training. The training program included ongoing hands-on training and personalized training based on the user鈥檚 role in the organization.

With Sophia, Texas A&M has eliminated various manual activities and now has a fresh new way of running their operations.
